…..An ordinary child with an extraordinary future…
Bug is a happy child. While he’s lost his original parents, he’s lucked out and ended up with an unusual but extremely supportive extended family. Shay took him into his home, using a labor contract(child labor is legal). Not that Bug ever really worked, he’d help a bit when Shay had the shop in Darkside. The labor contract was the only legal way for Shay to have possession of Bug and get him into a proper school. As a second class citizen employing a non citizen, Shay’s rights are extended to Bug. Bug goes to school for learning to assist Shay in his trade. Everybody knows that the labor contract is about the only way a second class citizen can adopt a child. When Shay moves in with Lincoln(a first class citizen). When Lincoln formally adopts Bug as his son, that accords full first class citizen rights upon Bug. Bug really doesn’t know much of what problems swirl around him. Shay and Link try to give him as much as possible a happy childhood. He knows he’s luckier than most demon kids. He knows he has problems with the world because he is a demon. But he has parents that will protect him. And at the moment they can. The question is as his magic gets stronger, will they be able to continue to hide him from harm.
